Mint Tea, 3,500 Commits, and a Proper Break

A short reflection on a four-month sprint, a birthday in Morocco, and why real rest matters after a long stretch of sustained output.

After 3,500 commits, it is finally time to close the laptop and grab a mint tea. 🇲🇦

The end of 2025 was a blur of code. From September through December, I was deep in a massive sprint, averaging around 30 commits every single day. It was a period of absolute focus and meaningful progress across my projects.

But today, January 5, the scenery has changed. I’m celebrating my birthday not behind a screen, but under the Moroccan sun. ☀️

This year taught me a crucial lesson: elite output requires elite recovery. You cannot sustain that kind of intensity forever without stepping back to recharge. I’m grateful for the work we got done, but right now, I’m just as grateful for the pause.

Here’s to recharging before the next big build. Cheers! 🥂
