Yandex vs. Google on a New Project

Yandex started sending real traffic while Google barely budged, and the contrast says a lot about how differently the two engines treat new sites.

📈 A Tale of Two Search Engines: When Yandex Shows Up and Google Stays Quiet

When I launched my latest project, I put all my hopes in Google. I optimized everything, set up Search Console, and waited for the organic traffic to start rolling in.

What happened instead was a sharp contrast.

Google is basically ignoring the site. The data is almost flat: very few impressions and only about 300 clicks over a long stretch of time. 📉

Yandex, on the other hand, tells a completely different story. The Webmaster dashboard shows a strong upward trend, including a reported 500% increase in clicks recently. 🚀

It is a clear example of how differently search algorithms can behave. Yandex is actively crawling, indexing, and rewarding fresh content, while Google seems in no hurry at all.

Big thanks to Yandex for the early traction and for giving this project a real chance. Now the real work starts: figuring out what Google still is not seeing.

Have you ever seen such a big performance gap between the two? I would love to hear about your experience.
